This summer was amazing because we had the pleasure of teaching our first mural painting class at the Creative Arts and Music Center in Granite Bay, Ca. We had three students work alongside us for the transformation of an outdoor play yard . With all the engaging colors and designs, it is a perfect back drop for all kids and adults who come to this center to be creative. This sign was custom designed and hand painted for one of our favourite art communities in the Sacramento region. It is double sided with a replicated, hand painted copy on the reverse.
A backyard masonry wall, measuring sixty six feet long by six feet high, is transformed into a window to the outdoors. This family had many memories of hiking along the American River in California where poppies and wild flowers pave the hills. Large rocks jump out into the water to continue their pre-existing natural fountain and bring the American River to them. As two Sacramento Artists that enjoy the outdoors of our area, we loved creating a similar feeling right along their pool side. Now dreams of flouting in the American River on hot summer days is a reality.
This fishing enthusiast called upon us for a memorial to his greatest pastimes. With limited space, but huge ideas, we were given this project to brighten up a beautiful garden through pre-existing material. Instead of having a boring-plain shed in their backyard, this fisherman wanted to transform the area with a painting that would keep him cool during the hot summers. As Sacramento Artists we know a little about the sun and heat so we chose an evening fishing scene to cool down and inspire the area.
